I have long admired these little sewing pockets made by artists like Tasha Tudor and Maggie Bonanomi…and so, have decided to try making one myself. I hope you will like it as much as I do.

My offering this month is a colonial style sewing pocket or pouch, stitched from vintage linen and lined with a blue reproduction calico. The front of the pouch features colorful crewel work in a colonial floral motif, and the back is plain linen. The pouch is edged in calico and has a long looped tie, making it perfect for hanging on a cupboard door or peg. It closes with an antique shell button. All finish work has been done by hand and the pouch is heavily stained to give it the appearance of age.

My sewing pouch measures 9” long (not including the tie), and is 7” at the widest point. The tie measures 23” long. The pouch was made using my own pattern. I think you will appreciate the quality and details of this piece.
The price for the colonial style pocket is $33.00, which includes shipping in the continental US.
