Primitive Halloween Dolls Peggy Sue
This prim pumpkin gal, (
pictured on the right ) named Peggy Sue, is going to the Jack-o'-lantern
contest. With her color changing glowing
pumpkin, she would make a nice display next to your entry
way or as a centerpiece on the table.
Peggy Sue, approximately 24 inches tall with her
hat, is made from painted orange and aged osnaburg, has separately
stitched on eyelids, artist penciled and sealed blue eyes, a sewn on black
wool sewn felt nose, blushing cheeks, and a black embroidered mouth. Her
arms and hands are wired so she can hold her banner and pumpkin. She is
attached to an antique beehive bobbin that has been secured to a painted black
wood base.
The dress she is wearing is of quilt shop fabric
with a black background and full of *spooky* halloween pumpkins. The hem
of the sleeves and bottom hem of the dress have been hand sewn with orange
embroidery thread. She has an orange ruffled collar with black tinsel
garland hand sewn around the neckline. There is an orange ribbon belt that
ties in the back with a big bow. On the belt, is a woolie pin with OCT
stamped on it.
Her hat is made from black wool felt with black
tinsel garland sewn on it and adorned with a black button and orange felt.
The black felt banner has HALLOWEEN stamped on it
and is blanket stitched on the felt. There is a woolie pin sewn on it
with Halloween ribbon.

The pumpkin is a purchased pumpkin that I have
carved out a jack-o'-lantern face, painted and stained, and added a color
changing glowing tea light inside. I will also add a regular flickering
tea light candle.
Peggy Sue has been inspired and adapted from a
Back Porch Pickins pattern with my own special touches. The dress,
banner, hat, and the jack-o'-lantern carved face are of my own design.
This set is full of details and has been lovingly made with lots of stitching,
time and love !
Peggy Sue ( on the right of the picture )
comes from a smoke free home, is signed and dated, and will be carefully
packaged with a prim Halloween surprise inside. This set is for
display and adult supervision when small children are nearby. If you
would like to see a slideshow of Peggy Sue or have any questions, please feel
free to contact me. Shipping, delivery confirmation, and insurance
are included with the price.
Please note that dolls are priced
separately.
Candy
As you can see, this prim vintage gal,
appropriately named Candy, loves jack-o'-lanterns. She has
decided to go trick or treating wearing her halloween pumpkin mask. She
is taking along a vintage looking halloween noisemaker and a candy container
reminiscent of the ones from the 1920s - '30s.
Candy ( pictured on the left ) is made from aged
osnaburg, has a head full of thick curly blonde wool hair, separately
stitched on eyelids, a pinch stitched nose, artist penciled and sealed
beautiful blue eyes, an embroidered red mouth and blushing cheeks. Her
arms and hands are wired so she can hold her noisemaker and candy container
on her own. She has been attached to an antique bobbin and is secured
to a painted black wood base.
Her dress is made from quilt shop fabric of
a pretty teal blue with jack-o'-lanterns and ruffled sleeves and an
underskirt of coffee dyed teal, cream, and orange rick rack
looking fabric. The collar is coffee dyed orange wool felt with a
black blanket stitched edge. At the neckline is a vintage black
button. Orange rick rack is sewn along the hem of the dress.
At the waistline is a woolie pin with BOO printed on it. The
hat, made from black wool felt with a burnt orange ruffled brim, was
inspired by a vintage paper hat I saw in an antique store. It has a
trick or treat banner held on with rusty bells. An orange and black
tinsel stem is hand sewn around the hat.The mask is printed on muslin
and handsewn on hardened black felt, finished with a black tinsel stem around
the edge. Black elastic cord holds the mask on her
face. It has been sprayed with matte sealer.
I just love the vintage looking Halloween
noisemaker and candy container. Both have been made from paper
mache' boxes, hand painted and sealed with matte spray. The
rattle has plastic beads inside for the noise and is very tightly
secured to the dowel rod. The candy container has a rusty wire handle.
Tucked inside the container is five pieces of candy made from chenille stems
coated with German glass glitter. There is also crepe
paper tucked inside.
Candy is of my own design and the hat, mask,
halloween noisemaker , and candy container are inspired from the
antique vintage look of the 1920s - 1950s. This set has so many
details and has been lovingly made with lots of time and stitching. She is
signed and dated, comes from a smoke free home, and will be carefully
shipped with a prim surprise tucked inside.
This set is for display and adult
supervision when small children are nearby. If you would like to see a
slideshow of Candy( pictured on the left ) or have any questions,
please feel free to contact me. Shipping, delivery confirmation,
and insurance are included with the price. Please note that dolls are
priced separately.
