Table/Candle mat

.....is 18" X 19". I have used an old cream colored wool blanket and primly sewn frayed ticking down one side and part way on the other side, one side had the original blanket stitching and the other is frayed. In the middle is a 100 year old quilt block that I have sewn on with a primitive stitch around the edge and then tied in a few spots.
It turned out very primitive!!

  Mary Olive is a 20" rag stuffed doll. She is made from muslin but has a worn sock head and sock arms with one hand being mended, Her legs have been recovered in old blue mattress ticking. Her face is hand stitched with an old button eye and a thread hanging where she has lost the other button. I have sewn on stained cheesecloth for her hair.
Mary Olive wears a slip made from osnaburg and a faded,stained blue plaid dress with a sash made from a vintage flour sack.
